I
am a Registered Nurse with more than twenty years experience
in the medical field in many different settings. My
experiences have consisted of everything from critical care,
operating room, pediatrics, rehab, home, health and hospice
nursing to pre and post-operative care. During the early
years I learned a “holistic healing” technique that became a
part of my practice that would lead to include many other
areas of complementary and alternative medicine.
Introduction to “Therapeutic Touch” came as a total
surprise. When I was a new grad, one of my patients
was in excruciating pain and his last dose of narcotics had
already been given for my shift. I went to the charge nurse
and explained the situation regarding this young man
expecting to have to call the doctor for another order.
Instead, she took me by the hand and headed back down the
hall to his room where she explained “Therapeutic Touch” and
asked the patient if she could treat him, I watched as she
performed what appeared to be “waving hands” over his body
and was amazed that the patient was sleeping comfortably in
a matter of minutes. He slept for four hours. This was a
life-changing event for me.
The hospital offered a certification course and I practiced
this technique exclusively, for years on a vast number of
family, friends, animals, plants and patients until I was
introduced to “Reiki.” Surgeons that were about to operate
began to request treatments for pain-relief from bursitis
and tendonitis before they started their next case. This to
me was astounding due to the mentality surrounding
“alternative and holistic” medicine at that time. Since then
I have treated hundreds of people worldwide both local and
remote using all of the healing techniques that I have added
to my practice since then. The results have been profound
and dramatic changes have occurred.
Introduction to “Feng Shui” came about when I invited a
co-worker home for lunch many years ago. She walked
into my home and immediately started making suggestions
regarding the placement of items in the house. I was
intrigued about the concept of getting what you needed by
moving stuff around so I bought the book and tried the
basics. It was years later that a close friend asked me to
attend a “Feng Shui” practitioner course that was being
given by a well-known author and consultant, Karen Rauch
Carter, from the West Coast. As I studied and prepared for
the course using the tools purposefully, my whole life
changed, unexpectedly, and within a very short period of
time. Dreams do come true using Feng Shui wisdom.
My professional life combines all of my acquired knowledge,
practice and experience to share with those that have reason
to believe that their lives need adjustments to promote
overall well being. The results are based upon your
intention to change those things in your life that are
making you unhappy or ill in some form or another. It takes
energy to create change.
One of my favorite sayings is, “Don’t count the days,
make every day count.” Have a great one.
